Dalia Carbajal-Robles UC Davis undergraduate, 4th year Major: Landscape Architecture Hi, It's Summer!! I usually go home for the summer, which is East Los Angeles. However, this summer, I decided to stay in Davis and take this amazing opportunity of working with Dr. Rebecca Calisi, a professor in the Department of Neurobiology, Physiology and Behavior, who is currently researching the therapeutic benefits of "Green Care". My role is the "Garden Whisper", which consists of growing a large vegetable garden that connects with studying the therapeutic benefits of horticulture-human interactions. At the moment, we are deep into researching how exactly to design the garden - thinking about pathways, the circulation, size, shape, etc. We are using techniques like site analysis, bubble diagrams, and conceptual diagrams/plans. We are also listing different kinds of vegetation that would best fit this site. It is a work in progress, but nevertheless, I am happy to be here and grow along with this wonderful garden and team!
